Roadmap #2: Spring Accomplishments and Fall 2025 Roadmap

The spring semester was a whirlwind of teaching and building, and as we head into the heart of summer, I wanted to share a roadmap of everything we accomplished at Teacher’s PET last quarter and what you can look forward to as we move into the fall.

What We Accomplished: Spring/Q2 2025

The last few months were huge for us as we hit our key milestones of opening up the user set and visibility of our little product idea.

Trial Accounts are Live! Thanks to a small startup grant we were awarded, we were able to launch user accounts within the app. You can now create a free trial account to test our tools as you prep for your fall courses. Your feedback through bug reports and surveys is crucial as we continue to improve.

Your trial account gives you access to our revamped PAL chatbot and our early-stage Rubric Builder. We’ve found that these tools help educators save precious time and energy, which can then be reinvested into high-impact practices like Universal Design and ungrading. I even had the opportunity to present these preliminary findings at a virtual ungrading conference this spring.

To make everything easier to find, we also redesigned our website and organized our resources into a Planner Shop and a Freebie Library, which is now full of new HTML templates and assignment ideas.

What’s Next: A Look Ahead to Fall/Q3 2025

We’re carrying this momentum into the next quarter with a focus on refinement, feedback, and new creations.

  • Improving Speed and Efficiency. Our main development goal is to reconfigure the backend architecture to significantly improve the speed of our tools, especially the Rubric Builder. As we scale up our user base, we want to ensure the experience is smooth and efficient.

  • New Digital Planner. I’m currently finalizing the first prototype of a digital planner, designed specifically for educators. It’s structured for an 18-week semester and blends practicality with personalization, with unique weekly layouts and plenty of space to make it your own. The eventual goal is to create printed, dated versions for next year.

  • Open-Sourcing and New Content. We are preparing to open-source parts of our code to empower tech-savvy educators and foster community contributions. On the channel, I’m launching a new series where you can follow along as I design a senior-level online asynchronous course for the fall. I will also be sharing materials from my upcoming workshop on teaching with technology at the Colorado Learning and Teaching with Technology (COLTT) conference.

We’re excited for the quarter ahead and can’t wait to continue building tools that empower educators. Hop over to the site to check out the freebies and sign up for a trial account—we’d love to hear what you think!
